New Name, New Everything
Perhaps there comes a time in one’s healing and budding new chapter, after two years of upended, whiplashed survival-mode existence, that finally one’s journey leads to try one’s hand at a blog. I’ve never considered myself much of a writer. The language of visual storytelling has been my forte. But if my passion for strength training and exercise has taught me anything, it’s that every last muscle starts at zero, and only builds in strength and ability by continual, repetitive work over time.
Which, speaking of passions - there are three which this blog will be dedicated to. Three golden obsessions I’ve found a home within to call myself known, when times got rough and everything was questioned. They are, in no particular order : Design, Travel, and Fitness.
As I sit in my Venice, CA living room enduring a fourth day of covid, soothing my symptoms by having just booked a flight to Peru and eyeing Thailand next while my favorite travel show is on repeat (it’s called Departures, and I owe it everything) - I figure now’s a great time to publish my new website and share my latest ‘completed’ rendering project.
I’ve been self-teaching Cinema 4D (and Redshift) for the better part of a year, an exciting new skill and creative horizon with limitless possibilities for the future. With all the free time I have (a joke - have you met me?) the best way I’ve been able to commit putting the hours in, is by creating the dreamiest scenes my imagination wants to take me to. I will only model that which inspires me and sparks joy. So naturally, look out for lots of barbells and jungle tree houses in the queue. Maybe a hazy sun-kissed field with an organically sculpted adobe structure or two. Definitely more pools of water and bubble magic.
Looking forward to sharing my trials and errors in rendering fantasies, trekking and exploring remote and ancient pockets of the world, and the occasional PR at the gym. And taking none of it too seriously along the way.
Glad to have you along for the ride.
